For many mothers, the demands of daily life leave little time to focus on themselves. Between juggling work, family responsibilities, and endless to-do lists, self-care often becomes the first thing to be sacrificed.

I created the Me Time Mentality because I’ve witnessed firsthand the toll that neglecting self-care can take.


In my travels around the world, I’ve met mothers from every culture, race, and religion—all sharing a common struggle: the overwhelming pressure to be everything to everyone while neglecting the most important person in their lives—themselves.



A Personal Journey: The Birth of Me Time Mentality


Motherhood is a journey like no other. It’s filled with moments of pure joy, profound love, and deep fulfilment. But it’s also a journey fraught with challenges, sacrifice, and, all too often, the quiet erosion of self. For countless women, the transition to motherhood marks the beginning of a gradual disappearance—of dreams deferred, passions set aside, and identities submerged beneath the relentless tide of caregiving.


These words from my book perfectly encapsulate the struggle I once faced. I’ve been there—drowning in guilt, overwhelmed by the demands of my family, and feeling lost in the chaos. I was a stay-at-home mum who felt undervalued, a working mother stretched too thin, and an entrepreneurial mum who often set aside her “me time” in the pursuit of everything else. I lost my identity, hit burnout, and spent years and thousands of pounds searching for answers.


One unforgettable day in Turkey vividly illustrates this. I was in Fethiye with my family, and as is often the case when you’re juggling three young children, chaos erupted. My middle child, Jaxon, an adventurous three-year-old, dashed off to play on a slide. At the same time, my little one Alara, who was only one, fell and ended up with a bloody nose, and my eldest, Tobias, a sensitive seven-year-old, had an overwhelming meltdown. In that moment, I felt completely out of control—panic, stress, and guilt crashing over me in waves.


But then I remembered my high-performance habit: “peace & calm.” I took just a few seconds for myself—moments of “me time” to breathe, reflect, and visualise a calmer state of being.


I used this simple breathing exercise (one I later detailed in Me Time Mentality – A Mother Reclaiming Her Identity) to help Tobias calm down. I guided him to think like Jaxon—what would he do in a park at sunset?


Slowly, we gathered together: I managed Alara’s nose, we found Jaxon, and finally, we huddled for a cuddle. We each shared three things we were grateful for, and in that simple act, I rediscovered my strength.


That day, I learned that even amidst chaos, small moments of self-care can transform panic into clarity and control. Yet, as I embarked on the journey of publishing my book, that same overwhelm crept in again. I questioned everything—what if it goes wrong? What if I can’t do this? The fear and self-doubt were immense.


It was then I thought about my why, Empowering Mothers Worldwide, and decided it is my duty to help them overcome these same feelings and it all starts with self-care and personal development just link I outline in the book!
